RHYTIDECTOMY/SUBMENTAL LIPECTOMY (FACELIFT, CHEEK LIFT, AND NECK LIFT) BY DR. ALAN SERURE IN MIAMI, FLORIDA
Signs of aging in the face begin in the jowl and the neck region. Over the years, the skin of the face and neck will lose elasticity, and muscles weaken in the cheeks and neck. A Facelift will improve telltale signs of aging, such as loose skin, sagging skin of the mid face, sagging skin in the neck, and fatty deposits under the chin and neck. It can be performed in combination with eyelid surgery as well as fillers, including Restylane® Perlane® Juvederm® Juvederm Plus® Radiesse® Botox® and Dysport® to complement your facelift procedure. If indicated, chemical peels and laser resurfacing can also be employed. The Facelift incisions are hidden in the hairline and in the curves around the ears, which are barely perceptible, and it is usually combined with a small incision beneath the chin.
The Facelift procedure can be performed as an outpatient procedure with an overnight nurse assisting in the privacy of your own home or hotel room, or at the hospital with an overnight stay. Anesthesia can be done with "twilight" sedation or general anesthesia, with patients not experiencing any discomfort during surgery.
Bruising and swelling usually diminishes within seven to fourteen days. In many cases patients are ready to socialize within two weeks. Strenuous exercise is discouraged for three to four weeks.
Smokers are not candidates for Facelift procedure and the patient must be nicotine free prior to embarking on surgery. As in all procedures, patients must be in optimal physical condition. Facelift patients are instructed to discontinue taking Aspirin, Ibuprofen, and fish oil prior to surgery.
It is advised that out of town patients stay in Miami for two weeks so they can be observed and appropriate post operative care can be given.
MINI FACELIFT/MIAMI LIFT™ BY DR. ALAN SERURE IN MIAMI, FLORIDA
Dr. Alan Serure developed the MIAMI LIFT™ (Minimal Incision And Maximum Impact), and has become the mainstay of Dr. Serure’s practice. As younger patients begin seeing telltale signs of aging, which may include jowling, loose skin of the cheeks/neck, and fatty tissue accumulating beneath the chin, they become candidates for the MIAMI LIFT™. The incisions
are hidden such that there are no telltale scars behind the ears, important in men and women with shorter hair, patients who wear pony tails, and patients who participate in athletic activities and water sports. If you are a candidate for this procedure, this can be done with fewer scars, incorporating techniques of mini short scar face lifting.
Facelifts are performed as outpatient procedures, with an overnight nurse assisting in the privacy of your own home or hotel room, or in the hospital with an overnight stay. Anesthesia can be done with "twilight" sedation or general anesthesia, with patients not experiencing any discomfort during surgery.
Bruising and swelling usually diminishes between seven and fourteen days. Most of the cleverly hidden sutures in the hairline are usually removed within ten days following surgery. In many cases with the MIAMI LIFT™, patients are ready to socialize within one week. Strenuous exercise is discouraged for three to four weeks.
Smokers are not candidates for the MIAMI LIFT™ procedure and the patient must be nicotine free prior to embarking on surgery. As in all procedures, patients must be in optimal physical condition. Patients are instructed to avoid taking Aspirin, Ibuprofen, and fish oil prior to surgery.

BLEPHAROPLASTY (EYELID SURGERY) BY DR. ALAN SERURE IN MIAMI, FLORIDA
Blepharoplasty involves removal of "hooding" and excess skin of the upper lids and the removal of puffyness of the lower lids. The incisions are hidden in the upper eyelid crease and beneath the lower lashes to address the lower lids, and sometimes inside the lower lid in the conjunctiva to remove the fatty deposits. Dr. Alan Serure will evaluate you and discuss the best procedure for you.

As in all procedures, patients must be in optimal physical condition. It is advised that out of town patients stay in Miami for one week so they can be observed and appropriate post operative care can be given.

All sutures are removed within ten days.

BUCCAL FAT EXCISION/CHEEK REDUCTION BY DR. ALAN SERURE IN MIAMI, FLORIDA
Many times patients will present with fullness in the cheeks, "chipmunk" cheeks, which can result from a variety of situations. Usually this is due to general body type and fat deposition. The fat in the cheeks is called buccal fat.
Liposuction of the cheeks, as well as direct excision of the buccal fat pads, may be employed by Dr. Alan Serure to enhance the shape of the cheeks. Buccal fat is removed by an invisible incison inside the mouth. This can be done at the same time as a Facelift procedure if indicated. Dr. Alan Serure will address each component of your surgery with you.
RHINOPLASTY (NASAL CONTOURING) BY DR. ALAN SERURE IN MIAMI, FLORIDA
Rhinoplasty, cosmetic surgery of the nose, is a procedure used to improve the appearance and contours of the nose, creating a more harmonious and proportionate appearance of the face. Rhinoplasty could include removal of a "hump" or "bump" on the nose, re-shaping the nasal bridge, re-shaping the width, re-shaping the fullness of the tip, re-shaping the length of the nose, reducing the size of the nostrils, shortening the nose, and adjusting the angle between the nose and the upper lip. These can be refined through a variety of maneuvers
that may not require any external incisions. If external incisions are employed, they are usually barely perceptible. In Rhinoplasty surgery, the contour of the nose is smoothed down with special "rasps" or files, the nasal bones are re-positioned, and cartilage of the tip and central portion of the nose are surgically refined for optimal contour. Patients will usually have a nasal packing in their nose which is removed within one or two days. A small plastic splint is placed to protect the nose while the patient is healing and is usually removed in seven days. Patients will experience bruising of the face and around the eyes for seven to ten days, and may then resume their normal activities.
Rhinoplasty is done as an outpatient procedure at an outpatient facility or in the hospital. Anesthesia can be done with "twilight" sedation or general anesthesia, with the patient not experiencing any discomfort during surgery.
As in all procedures, patients must be in optimal physical condition. It is advised that out of town patients stay in Miami for one week so they can be observed and appropriate post operative care can be given.
Rhinoplasty patients should avoid contact sports, where they are in danger of directly injuring the nose, for approximately three months.
GENIOPLASTY (CHIN AUGMENTATION) BY DR. ALAN SERURE IN MIAMI, FLORIDA
Chin augmentation is performed to add size to a retrusive or undersized chin. Dr. Serure will discuss your facial proportions and help determine if you will benefit from a chin augmentation. A small incision is made either under the chin or inside the mouth to create a space above the mandible (jawline), and the appropriate size implant is placed. Scarring is usually barely perceptible. Following surgery, patients should remain on a liquid or soft diet for three days. Patients should avoid strenuous exercise and contact sports for four to six weeks following surgery. Patients may resume normal activities within one week and usually can return to work within seven days or less.
As in all procedures, patients must be in optimal physical condition. It is advised that out of town patients stay in Miami for at least one week so they can be observed and appropriate post operative care can be given. Chin augmentation can be combined with Liposuction of the neck or Facelift procedure. Liposuction alone can sometimes be performed to remove fat from under the chin and contour the jawline. Patients who are candidates must have good skin elasticity. Dr. Serure will evaluate your skin and discuss the appropriate surgery for you.
Dr. Serure may also use injectables to achieve subtle augmentation of the chin.
