What is a face lift?
Don’t we all want to turn back the clock and wish that we could all take the years off our face and look 20 years younger? Dr. Alan Serure makes that all possible through his face lift procedures in his Miami office. A face lift or a rhytidectomy can restore a smoother and younger facial contour. This is done by removing the excess skin in the face and neck. The underlying tissues are also tightened and repair to ensure that they can provide adequate support to the skin.
The face lift procedure has been practiced in Miami for a very long time now but it still remains one of the most popular treatments being offered by Dr. Alan Serure in Miami. He has perfected the craft and can make dramatic changes in the way you look, taking years off your face and helping you achieve the younger and more beautiful version of yourself.
To further enhance and maximize the results of a face lift, patients have the option to combine the face lift with other cosmetic procedures. Some of the common procedures that are combined with face lifts are facial implants, augmentation of the soft tissues to reshape the structure of the face, skin resurfacing procedures to improve the texture and tone of the skin, and the use of dermal fillers to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
Who are the patients in Miami who will benefit from a face lift?
A facelift done in our office in Miami can solve almost all your age-related concerns and can definitely give you a younger and more vibrant appearance. A face lift can remove any deep lines and folds that are usually run from the corners of the nose up to the mouth. A face lift can also improve the definition of your jaw line, lift your cheekbones, eliminate deep wrinkles, and get rid of the loose skin on the neck that results to unsightly vertical cords.
Patients in Miami who are suffering from sagging eyelids and eyebrows will not achieve the results that they want by just having a facelift done. For a more uniform youthful appearance, we recommend that an eyelid surgery and a forehead lift be performed. The combination of procedures will make the rejuvenation balanced across all portions of the patient’s face.
What is a face lift like for patients in Miami?
It typically takes about 3 to 7 hours for a face lift to be completed in our office in Miami. The procedure is done under general anesthesia or intravenous sedation on an outpatient basis.
For traditional facelifts, an incision is made starting from the temple behind the hairline and runs along until the front of the ear. Once the incision is made, our team in Miami will repair the underlying muscles and tissues and will tighten them so that it will be able to provide support for the skin. Excess fat and skin will be removed and once done the skin will be draped again over the face and the incision lines will be secured with sutures. The incision lines will be concealed within the patient’s hairline and the contours of the patient’s face and ears.
Patients also have an option to get a face lift with limited incisions. This involves using shorter incisions starting from the temple, running along the area around the ear. If patients want to correct a sagging neck, an additional incision may be made under the chin to lift the neck. To prevent the accumulation of fluid in the area, drains will be placed and bandages will be wrapped on the head for protection.
What is the recovery process after face lift surgery?
You will be asked to come back in 1 or 2 days for the dressings and the drains to be removed. In 5 to 10 days, the stitches will be removed. Patients should expect to experience bruising and swelling but this will all go down in a few weeks. Patients in Miami can expect to resume work and be able to do their normal day-to-day activities in about 3 to 4 weeks after the face lift procedure. After the swelling and the bruising disappears, patients will appreciate the results and they will look youthful and rejuvenated. Patients will feel more confident with their refreshed appearance and will feel youthful and rejuvenated.
