Cheek Reduction

“Chipmunk cheeks,” or fullness in the cheeks, can be addressed through buccal fat removal.

Dr. Alan Serure performs this minimally invasive procedure by making an invisible half inch incision inside the mouth to remove the buccal fat pad, also known as Bichot’s fat pad, and placing absorbable sutures without external incisions.

The result is an enhanced facial contour with a more sculpted look and a less round, full face. Many times, cheek reduction is combined with a facelift or performed as an isolated procedure.

Cheek reduction (buccal fat pad reduction) is a brief outpatient procedure. Patients may resume normal activities the following day.
