TRANSAXILLARY BRACHIOPLASTY/BRACHIOPLASTY OF THE ARMS
A mini arm lift can be accomplished with Transaxillary brachioplasty, tightening the skin through the armpit, with scars that are only visible with the patient's arms elevated.
For severely loose skin, a Brachioplasty can be accomplished with an incision placed in the back of the patient's upper arm, tightening the skin of the entire arm from the armptit to the elbow. Frequently, this is employed when patients have experienced massive weight loss. Generally, patients can return to work within a few days. Exercise can be resumed within three to four weeks.
Liposuction of the arms, Transaxillary Brachioplasty, and Brachioplasty are all performed as outpatient procedures, either at an outpatient facility or at the hospital. Anesthsia can be done with “twilight” sedation or general anesthesia, with the patient not experiencing any discomfort during surgery.
As in all procedures, patients must be in optimal physical condition. It is advised that out of town patients stay in Miami for one week so they can be observed and appropriate post operative can be given.
