LIPOSUCTION/LIPOSCUPTURE BY DR. ALAN SERURE IN MIAMI FLORIDA

Miami is known throughout the world for its beauty and beautiful people, always conscious of looking their best in their everyday life, as well as on the beach. Liposuction, also known as Liposculpture can enable patients to achieve their goals, removing localized excesses of fatty tissue. Liposuction/Liposculpture removes: localized fat deposit of the cheeks, chin, neck, upper arms, chest, abdomen, waist, hips, back, buttocks, thighs, inner aspect of the knees, calves, and ankles. Bulges of fat are removed, creating a slimmer appearance and body contour. Over the years, Dr. Alan Serure has performed thousands of liposuction procedures. He has refined his technique and will work with you to customize your treatment plan for optimal results. Liposuction is not a cure for obesity. It is ideal for removing isolated areas of fat, including excess accumulation of fat in the male breast.

Liposuction/Liposculpture is performed as an outpatient procedure, under heavy sedation or general anesthesia, with the patient not experiencing any discomfort during surgery.

Following Liposuction, a binder or a dressing is applied just snug enough to hold the soft and smooth foam in place over the areas which have been addressed with liposuction. There is bruising and swelling that may last between one to four weeks, depending on the individual patient, the amount of liposuction done, and skin type. Sutures are placed to close the barely perceptible incisions, with skin glue sealing the wound. There are no drainage tubes placed. Patients are advised to refrain from strenuous exercise for two to four weeks following surgery.

As in all procedures, patients must be in optimal physical condition. It is advised that out of town patients stay in Miami for one week so they can be observed and appropriate post operative care can be given. Patients can travel a week following surgery.

Results vary based on individual skin elasticity. Optimal results are best achieved on patients with superior skin tone. Cellulite and stretch marks are not removed with liposuction. With advanced age and diminished skin tone, individuals will become a less-satisfactory candidate for liposuction alone. There may be additional surgery required for removal of excess skin with a Facelift, or in the abdomen with Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck). These procedures are commonly combined with liposuction.

Thermage™ and Laser skin tightening procedures may also improve skin tone before or after liposuction.

Fat removal from Liposuction is permanent. If weight is gained, those fat cells do not return in that area. Weight gained following surgery will result in increased volume in the area treated, but usually not to the extent that was present prior to surgery.
