RESTYLANE® PERLANE® JUVEDERM® JUVEDERM ULTRA®

Dr. Serure will evaluate you and your individual needs to determine the best surgical procedures to accomplish your goals. He will suggest procedures that may include tightening the skin of the cheeks and neck, tightening the underlying muscle, and removing the skin beneath the chin to sculpt your neckline. Dr. Serure may advise removal of excess skin from your upper eyelids and puffyness of the lower lids (blepharoplasty). Your own fat can be injected to fill the lines between your nose and upper lip (nasolabial folds), as well as injectables such as Restylane®, Perlane®, Juvederm®, Juvederm Ultra®, Radiesse®, Botox® and Dysport® can be used to address facial wrinkles, either in the office before or after surgery, or at the same time as surgery.

Restylane® Perlane® Juvederm® and Juvederm Ultra® are skin fillers that add lost volume to restore youthful contours and make skin smoother. It may remove moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds such as those from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds) and the tear troughs under the eyes. Restylane® Perlane® Juvederm® and Juvederm Ultra® are composed of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that exists in the body that provides volume and fullness to the skin. Restylane® is usually used for shallower wrinkles and Perlane® Juvederm® and Juvederm Ultra® for the deeper wrinkles. Dr. Alan Serure will help guide you regarding the best product for your facial wrinkles. These injectables are administered after the application of a topical anesthetic cream that will partially numb the skin. Discomfort is minimal and there is no down time. Patients frequently return to work and are able to be seen socially that same evening. When bruising occurs, it is usually minimal and can be covered with make-up. Dr. Serure and his staff can assist you with this. Results may last approximately six months. Results have been seen for up to nine months and sometimes longer using Restylane® Perlane® Juvederm® and Juvederm Ultra®.

Fillers such as Restylane®, Perlane®, Juvederm®, and Juvederm Ultra® are also used to eliminate lines around the lips, re-shape and enhance lip volume, as well as increase volume loss due to aging.

Side effects of Restylane® Perlane® Juvederm® and Juvederm Ultra® are rare, but may include swelling, redness, minimal discomfort, bruising, and tenderness. Usually these will last only a few days. Restylane® and Perlane® are administered in the office. You must avoid taking aspirin, vitamin E, and other non steroidal anti- inflammatories such as Ibuprofen, as these may cause increased bruising.

Restylane® Perlane® Juvederm® and Juvederm Ultra® are slowly absorbed by your body, and replacement may be done at six month intervals. These injectables can also be combined with Botox® and Dysport® for optimal results in non surgical facial rejuvenation.

Radiesse® represents another excellent way to non surgically remove the stigma of facial aging. Radiesse® is injected as a wrinkle filler that initially restores facial volume and fullness to smooth out the signs of aging. It is used for moderate to severe wrinkles. Radiesse® keeps working with your body by stimulating your own natural collagen for longer lasting results. Radiesse® treatments are administered in the office by Dr. Alan Serure after application of a topical anesthetic cream to partially numb the skin. Dr. Serure will mix Radiesse® wrinkle filler with a local anesthetic to reduce the pain of the injections. Side effects are similar to other fillers and there may be bruising, redness, or transient swelling.

Radiesse® is effective for the smile lines, nasolabial folds, lines around the mouth, and it is also used to add fullness to cheeks, as well as non surgical facial rejuvenation. Effects may last between six months and at times longer.

Radiesse® treatments range in price from $750 to $3000 depending on the number of areas addressed.

Botox® is a purified protein that is administered as a simple non-surgical procedure to temporarily reduce the facial wrinkles and frown lines. Frown lines are caused by powerful muscle contractions. After years of these contractions, wrinkles can linger even after the muscle is relaxed. Botox® is administered with a few fine injections to remove frown lines. Botox® enables the muscles to relax so the skin appears smoother. Botox® is administered during a simple office visit. It is non surgical with no downtime, and minimal discomfort. Topical local anesthetic cream is used to numb the skin. This is followed by cold compresses to alleviate any minimal discomfort, redness, or bruising that may occur. Within one or two days you will notice softening of the appearance of your frown lines. They may continue improving for up to one month.

The results can last for three to four months, depending on the location and the strength of the muscles. You still will be able to make facial expressions. Your smile will be unchanged. Only the unwanted wrinkles are removed.

Botox® treatments range in price from $500 to $1500, depending on the number of areas addressed.

Dysport® is similar to Botox® in its mechanism and effects, and it can also be injected by Dr. Serure to reduce facial wrinkles and frown lines.

Thermage® procedures are safe and non invasive treatments that help smooth, tighten, and contour the skin of the face and body, resulting in a younger looking appearance. This is a non surgical procedure, with no injections and no down time. The Thermage® system is a technology developed that uses radio frequency to heat the areas deep underneath the skin. The heat tightens the collagen fiber that has become loosened and stretched with age. The heat stimulates new collagen growth and makes the skin feel smoother and thicker. Thermage can be done in the office, with minimal discomfort during the procedure. Occasionally, there is redness, swelling, and bumps, and rarely there will be blistering. Most side effects resolve without any intervention.

Thermage® works on all skin types. The results of Thermage® are more subtle than surgical procedures. Candidates have mild to moderate skin laxity, without excessive sun damage. Patients that can benefit from Thermage® are between the ages of 35 and 60 years of age. Thermage® is not a substitute for face lifting or body skin tightening.
